Hello, I'm Hannah, thanks for visiting my website.

Here's a little bit about me....

I qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2001 and enjoy combining my background in neurology and interest in the Feldenkris approach with my passion for strength and conditioning – helping people with wide-ranging challenges to reach their ultimate fitness, maximise their confidence and achieve their personal goals. The impact of being strong on balance, bone density and independence in later life is huge – life can take a different pathway and a huge part of my role is educating this and encouraging people to exercise regularly – looking ahead to decreasing care support/costs and maintaining their quality of life.

I have experience across community and hospital settings; including setting up and running specialist neurological exercise classes in the NHS for Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis, and organising specialist study days including back pain and obesity management. I currently work part-time for East Cheshire NHS Trust, providing physiotherapy at home and within the hospital to patients with a wide range of conditions.

I have experience of personal rehab following shoulder and abdominal surgery, knee trauma and getting back to fitness following childbirth. I returned to competitive sport in 2018 and reached my goal at the National Masters championships in October 2019 of achieving lifetime best sprint times aged 40, along with breaking a world record as a part of a sprint relay team earlier in the year. My goal is to still be racing in my 80’s – and to break as many records as I can along the way!

WHAT'S DIFFERENT?

  • Assessment and treatment available within the gym

  • Home visits available

  • More time – you pay for a service, not a time (sessions last at least an hour)

  • No need to block-book sessions

  • Weekend appointments (at no extra cost)

  • Classes – supported exercise to move well & get strong

  • Service for all – those in pain, those wanting to get fit, pre and post surgery strengthening – the only thing you need is the motivation to make change

  • Education so you can manage your own condition.

Classes

My strengthening and pelvic floor classes are usually held at Bollington Health and Leisure but are currently being delivered via Zoom.

The classes are changed every week to challenge the body in different ways and to teach people new exercises. All groups are small so that everyone gets personal input - I use the video to demonstrate exercises then watch people and give them guidance during the class.

Please contact me if you would like more information or to book a place.

* Please note that sessions times and dates differ for Zoom sessions from those advertised at the Leisure Centre - there are currently 4 strengthening classes and 1 pelvic floor class a week.

One to one consultations

Home, gym or work-based assessments available - I am also currently delivering sessions via Zoom. I have full PPE to allow for home visits if this is required.

Sessions aren't time restricted - they are at least an hour, giving you the opportunity to explain your challenges, receive a physical assessment, set goals and run through your tailored programme with my support.

Testimonials

David (74), gym member

A consultation with a physio is easy. What is difficult is to commit to an exercise programme on your own afterwards. With her holistic approach, Hannah’s group classes not only help with this but, also, provide a low cost way to further develop recovery in a supporting group environment.

For me her impact on my issues has been really positive!

Sam (38), runner

I can't recommend Hannah enough. In a just a few small weeks she's taught me strengthen

my abs and back.

My running improved dramatically,

my back pain is all but gone.

Running is so much less laboured.

Just wonderful. Thank you so much.

Vicky (36), new mum

I went to see Hannah about my bad shoulder. Since having my little boy and breastfeeding and lifting the pain was getting worse and I was struggling to lift my arm.

Once session with Hannah completely fixed the problem. I cannot recommend her enough.

Hannah is knowledgeable and friendly and I am genuinely amazed that my pain was fixed.
